Sacred Fire of Liberty Part Two – this post is a connection of previous postings of the sacred fire section of liberty awards part one which gives respect to the fighters who have been fighting for freedom in the opinion and obtain information.

Dr. Melvyn Grovit

Dr. Melvyn Grovit is Associate Associate Associate Scientist affiliated with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. As a teenager, Grovit developed an extensive Crohn case and eventually lost two-thirds of his intestinal tract for the disease. Due to his tremendous early life experience with Crohn’s disease and its complications, he is encouraged to develop a personalized protocol for patients suffering from inflammatory bowel disorders.


He graduated from Podiatric Medicine in 1961 with a PhD in Podiatric Medicine. Trained by the faculty of Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition and the University of Bridgeport Institute of Nutrition, he earned his Master of Science in Biology with Human Nutrition Certification in 1986.


Grovit as Chairman’s Nutrition Specialist Certification Board, New York Board of Diet and Nutrition Board for the American College of Diet and Nutrition Board.


Dr. Grovit is a certified podiatry expert and holds many positions in NYCPM during his forty years of career at the institution. He is Professor and Head of New York Foot Clinic (FCNY) and Director of Emergency Response Team at FCNY.

Dr. Harry G. Preuss

Dr. Harry G. Preuss, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (BA) and Medical Degree (MD) from Cornell University, Ithaca, taking three years in studying all about medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, participating for two years as a renal physiologist at Cornell University Medical Center, and also spent two years in clinical and research training at Georgetown University Medical Center.


Previous government appointments include four years at the Advisory Board of the National Institute for Aging, two years on the NIH Advisory Board and two years on the Advisory Board for the Office of Alternative Medicine. She has recently joined the NHLBI National Cholesterol Education Program.


He is the recipient of Harold Harper Lectureship Award (ACAM), Bieber Awards, James Lind, and William B. Peck for his research and activities in the medical and nutrition field. His current research, both laboratory and clinical, centers on the use of dietary supplements to influence or even prevent various health problems, especially those associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular disorders.

Dr. Charles B. Simone

Charles B. Simone, M.M.S., M.D. is a Cardiologist, Radiation Oncologist,Immunology Tumor and Medical Oncologist, and is the Founder of the Simone Cancer Institute. Simone has worked with the Special Operations Forces, and in December 2003 was presented with a Award in Tampa.

Dr. Sidney Stohs

Dr. Sidney Stohs is the Dean Emeritus of the Creighton University Health and Pharmaceutical Profession Center. He is an award-winning research scientist and nutritionist who has led for over forty years. He has published over 380 peer peer peer review articles, including many based on original research.

He is the President and Chairman of the Nutrition Specialist Certification Agency. Under his leadership, BCNS has become an accredited and influential certification body, enabling undergraduate professionals to overcome academic and regulatory hurdles to clinical nutrition therapy and their service in all areas of nutrition.

Dr. Stohs is the inventor of many scientifically supported nutrition formulations designed to improve overall health, immune system function and health and function of certain organ and organ systems.

Dr.Jeanne A. Drisko

Jeanne A. Drisko, M.D served as Director of the University of Kansas Integrative Medical Center (KUIM) and Hugh D. Riordan preferred by Orthomolecular Medicine at the University of Kansas. KUIM has grown significantly under his direction.

KUIM is supported by four academic medical pillars: patient care first, followed by research, education and service. Patient care is designed from the outset for patient-centered and integrative care that assesses individualized biochemistry and specific therapy according to patient needs and preferences.

Natural products are used when appropriate, guided by safety. Strong patient care offers advice on the KUIM research agenda. The research pillar has focused on the widely used complementary and alternative treatment practices, such as vitamin C therapy and intravenous chelation for cardiovascular disease.

KUIM is a leader in intravenous vitamin C research and is a key partner in designing and running the Chelation Therapy Assessment Trial (TACT). KUIM’s research is translational with clinical and preclinical trials. Publications include large peer peer journals. Dr. Drisko holds several Investigational New Drug (IND) numbers from the FDA to research natural products.

KUIM is one of the small groups of Integrative Medicine scholarship recognized by the Council of Specialist Doctors of America who passed the board of directors in the field of integrative medicine. Drisko designed the curriculum which was then approved by KU Medical Center Graduate Medical Education. Another important educational advancement took place with the partnership of KUIM and the Department of Diet and Nutrition KUMC, which resulted in the development and institution of master programs with the certificate of Dietetics and Integrative Medicine. This is the first of its kind in the U.S. at an academic center that has clinical experience in dietetics and integrative medicine along with a didactic curriculum.

Dr. Robert I-San Lin has dedicated over four decades to the advancement of nutritional science and nutrition care. In the early 1970s. Lin did research on the role of vitamin B12 and folic acid in neurological development and cellular mutations. He developed radioimmunoassay for this nutrient. His work greatly contributes to the accuracy and speed of measurements of B12 and folic acid, and early prevention of B12 deficiency dementia.


Dr. Lin undertakes sensitive photo damage, wounds from exposure to visible light mediated by singlet oxygen. Dr. Lin found that in beta-carotene experiments, singlet oxygen extinguishers, reduced damage.


Around the mid-1970s, Dr. Lin served as Chief Scientist of PepsiCo / Frito-Lay. He discusses trans fatty acids and high salt intake. Cooking oil from soybeans, corn and cottonseed are unstable. Food industry hydrogenates them for stabilization. Vegetable oil contains unsaturated fatty acids-cis, and hydrogenation creates unhealthy trans isomers. Dr. Lin causes the reduction of hydrogenated oil in processed foods. Similarly, Dr. Lin works to reduce the salt content of Frito-Lay products.

Dr. Lin has been studying and practicing Chinese traditional herbal medicine for six decades and has done extensive extensive phytochemicals extensively. In 1990, he directed and directed the First World Congress on the Health Significance of Garlic and Garlic Constituents. Part of his 1994 “Phytochemicals and Antioxidants” helped open a new field in nutritional care.
